Q&A

CAN I TAKE PICTURES DURING THE WEDDING CEREMONIES?

We will be hosting “UNPLUGGED” wedding ceremonies, as it is important to us to see your present and joyful faces as we share these unforgettable moments together.

We kindly request that you keep your phones, iPads, and cameras turned off or out of sight in your bags or pockets during the ceremonies. Don't worry, we have hired an amazing team to capture the day for us.

Please feel free to take as many photos as you wish, after the ceremonies!

Do I have to wear traditional Indian attire?

We would be honored if our friends and family joined us in wearing traditional Indian formal attire for our morning Hindu wedding ceremony!

Manesh’s family would love for you to embrace and celebrate their culture as they welcome Stephanie into their family. While this is not a mandatory dress code, we encourage those interested to explore traditional Indian outfits. To make it easier, the Bride has created a helpful guide with outfit ideas and links to popular local and online Indian stores.

What to Wear - Indian Outfit Guide

What is the dress code for the American ceremony?

Our wedding will be black-tie preferred, and both we and our wedding party will be dressed in formal attire. We kindly invite our guests to do the same—men should wear well-matched suits or tuxedos, and women are encouraged to wear floor-length or midi-length dresses.

While black-tie traditionally leans formal and darker in tone, we welcome you to embrace the season by incorporating elements of your personal spring style within the dress code.

will the wedding be outdoors?

Weather permitting, both our ceremonies will take place outdoors on grass. Please dress accordingly and choose footwear that is comfortable for walking on grass and uneven terrain.

We recommend avoiding thin heels or using heel protectors to ensure stability and comfort throughout the events.

are there any colors I should avoid?

For the Indian ceremony, we kindly ask that you avoid wearing red, as it is traditional in Indian and Hindu culture for the bride to wear this color.

For the American ceremony, please do not wear white.

what do I do in-between the two ceremonies?

To allow our vendors time and space to transition the venue for our next ceremony, we kindly request that guests return to their hotels to change into their American wedding attire, enjoy a snack, and relax.

If you are staying at one of the Rio Lakefront Marriott properties, a shuttle service will be available to bring you back to the venue for the evening American ceremony and reception.

Can I bring my kids?

This event will be an adults-only affair, unless otherwise specified on your invitation and RSVP.

can I bring a plus one?

In order to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, only the guests formally invited on your wedding invitation will be accommodated. If you have received a plus one, their name will appear on your RSVP.

what if I do not rsvp in time?

Unfortunately, if we do not receive your RSVP by the date provided it will automatically be marked as a no we will miss celebrating with you but it is imperative that we provide our vendors with a final guest count within the time they have given. Thank you for understanding.

The absolute last day to RSVP is April 15th, 2025.

will there be an open bar?

YES! The drinks are on us, so come ready to celebrate!

We will have a shuttle service to take guests back to the Washingtonian Center hotels after the reception. Once the shuttle schedule is finalized, it will be posted under Transportation.
